Celebrate Good Times

celebrate_good_times, originally uploaded by suzbucket.

Another scrapping the music blog challenge. I love the songs they chose and this song was perfect for these photos.

I am also loving Picnik! Have you tried it out? I love how I can upload my photos and and create these great layouts. I know I could have easily done this in Photo Shop, but honestly I wanted it done quickly and easily...and well... I love it. TFL.

Why do you have to grow up?

IMG_1950 copy, originally uploaded by suzbucket.

My Johnny came over to visit on Sunday. I really miss him being at home. He walked in the door and I just hugged and hugged him. I know I can be pretty annoying but I missed him so much. My boy has a job, he goes to college.... I can't be prouder of my baby.

My mom makes fun of me..she says.. now you know how I feel. Augh that woman, yeah yeah is all I say, leave me alone and let me enjoy my baby.

Did you know

josh_17_bday, originally uploaded by suzbucket.

that I bought you at the Food Lion when I lived in South Carolina?
Josh: Whatever mom!
me: Did you know I love you SO MUCH?
Josh: Yeah mom I know.
me: Did I ever tell you how handsome you are?
Josh: Yeah mom, all the time.
me: Why do I love you so much?
Josh: Because I'm so cute and I have a beautiful smile.
me: *looking at him like WATEVER*

Today is my baby's birthday. I still can't believe he is 17! He was all excited about going to school this morning...he wanted to see what all his 'girlfriends' (yes plural) got him for his birthday. He doesn't really have girlfriends he just thinks he is a mack daddy. LOL. Oh how I love my silly child.

Ribbon Ring Tag

IMG_1871_1

A few days ago I posted a picture of my all so fabulous ribbon storage..LOL.. and lucky for me Melissa Bickle from Ribbon Ring saw my mess and sent me some of her Ribbon Ring Tags to try out.

Last night I sat down in my scraproom and tried them out. As I am pulling ribbons out of my 'box of mess' I kept asking myself where did this ugly thing come from..and oh look at this it's so cute I could have used it on this layout or that layout. See where I am going? I really like this hanging system because you can see what you have. Now I just have to stick a nail in my wall and hang it up next to my desk. I have to say I will certainly be purchasing more, because seriously.. and don't laugh... I have a lot more I need to hang up. THANK YOU MELISSA I really love this! Now I don't have an excuse for not using ribbon.

It just hit me....think about it.. you can just pick up your layout or your photo.. and how easy will this be to just start matching everything up. OMG I am so excited. OK I am off to order more. Check out the site if you have a chance and let me know what you think.

I WANT TO SEE THIS!!

I think I may just have to plan a Vegas trip in the near future. I read about THIS on another blog and I really want to go see it!!!

How boring is this???

this is my desk. I know I've posted pictures of it before but I am showing you the clean side. I have piles and piles of papers to the left me and I have piles and piles of papers to the right of me. It really is pretty ugly right now. I am ready to bring out my Halloween decorations. Yes I have a box at work full of decorations. I actually have a few creatures I leave up all year long but I think it's time to bring out the rest. hahah..

The coolest thing happened, I won a Create My Keepsake Kit from Scrapping the Music blog. I have been feeling pretty 'crappy' about my work lately and this really cheered me up. Well that and seeing my favorite band last night. I'm a little tired today but you know it's all worth it. I realized last night..the thing that I love most about a guy is his smile. I was watching the band up on the big screen and I swear I feel in love (don't tell Mark) but this one guy in the band... he would just smile... and aaahhhaaa I am in love. OK yeah.. fantasy love.. but whatever I can close my eyes and dream right. =)

Besides that the Marathon training is right on track. WOOAA it just hit me.. my stomach hurts... it's 3 weeks away. Ouch, I'll be fine. I'm a little injured - the knee has been acting up - but I'll be fine. I'll cross that finish line with a smile. BUT just in case.. if anyone wants to take my place just let me know. *CHEESE*

New inspiration book

Taking Flight, Inspiration and Techniques to Give Your Creative Spirit Wings by Kelly Rae Roberts

Just by looking at the cover, I want this!

I have to admit I've been in a little creative funk and really the mix media side of me wants to come out and play. (Yo MARJORIE you listening?) I love scrapbooking but I want to do more. I want to sew, I want to stamp, I want to paint, I want to get my hands all dirty but most of all I want to enjoy it. Make sense?

So hey if you happen to have this book, tell me... is it all I imagine it to be?

Messy Marvin lives here......

I've been playing around all day...pulling things out.. putting things away.. just feeling like messy Marvin.

How sad is my ribbon storage? I should be more organized and I'm working on it, but as far as ribbon storage... forgetaboutit. Yeah I know.. don't say it..but what can I say I love ribbon.

IMG_1798

Look here...my desk. Ever since I took out my 8 foot table I have been forcing myself to work in my 'assigned work area'. Yeah it's messy..but I am enjoying my creative process. There is so much I want to cram into this Sunday... I have maybe 5 hours left of good work time. See that.. below.. it's a circle journal I am working on. It is coming out so cute. =)

Girls just wanna have fun

What a fun challenge this was - I just love this song. The pictures are from Labor Day Weekend and I thought they would be perfect for this challenge.
And check it out... glitter... I love the stuff!!
Thanks for the challenge and I am looking forward to the next one. Check out the other layouts at Scrapping the music!

The streets are filled with glitter.....

This is what Jenni Bowlin said about Cottonwood, AZ - the home of Art Institute Glitter, Inc... aka... ART GLITTER. If you know Jenni Bowlin you know the woman knows her glitter. So after horse back riding on Sunday we decided to take a little field trip to Cottonwood, AZ. On our way there we are chatting away and wondered.. I wonder if it's even open today? I took out Tashia's iPhone and starting doing my research on this Art Glitter place. I found the phone number and decided to call - secretly hoping it was just a recording giving us the times. A really nice lady answered the phone and I asked her - are you open today? She said well technically no, but I am here doing the taxes and I can open up for you. I told Ginger.. oh wow the accountant is in and is willing to open up for us. Well I just assumed it was an accountant... hello... I am doing the taxes. ANYWAY.. we get there I call again since we can't really figure out which building is the retail store. This cute lady comes out... and guess who it is.... none other then the Art Glitter lady.. Barbara Trombley. Sweet as pie let me tell you. We walked in, looked at some of her future projects... OMG imagine glittered Fairy Wings... Yeah amazing! She gaves us a glitter demonstration, told us the differences of the glitters..I'm not a glitter girl..but I was in awe. I wanted a huge tub of glitter! For what? Just because! It looked so pretty in it's bowl... augh Art Glitter love the stuff. Imagine a job where all you do is play with glitter all day long...yeah I think I would love it too.
So there you have it, we met the Art Glitter Queen - Barbara Trombley. Were the streets filled with glitter? No not really, just the driveway =)

October 2008 Scrapbooks Etc. Page 122

Call me silly, but I get butterflies when I see my designs in print. Yeah I know no one may know I designed that skull, but I know that I did... and it gives me butterflies knowing that someone out there is looking at it - well everyone that reads this magazine will read it. And seriously how many people subscribe to this magazine anyway..... I know when they first came out people I thought I was really weird, but I don't care... I love my skull... it took me hours to get it just right... AAAHHHH I love it.

While I'm at it I am going to post another all time favorite. Joe is AMAZING... and check out what he did with the skull!! Lets hope we see the skulls back at the Magistical Memories store soon =)

Breathe... just breathe....

That is what it has felt like these last two days at work. Work is super busy, I left busy, came back to it being busy... busy hell is what I call it. Augh but it's OK, work is work and I love it. It keeps me busy and out of trouble... =) well not really but at least I try.

So here I am trying to finally update my blog. I know it's been a while but like I said I have been busy.

First I wanted to share some photos from Labor Day. My niece got a super cute digital camera that takes pictures underwater. How cute is that!! So we took it underwater and started making silly faces. I won't even show those, but here are a few of my favorites.

Labor day fun

Adorable huh! I just love that girl to pieces. While there I needed to run an errand and asked her to drive me. She was like SURE anything for you bucket... yeah.. see why I love her. She was so adorable. She was holding on to the steering wheel like it was no body's business. She did pretty good. =) Oh my baby girl is growing up! So not fair.

So how was Creative Escape. It totally SUCKED! When the lottery comes up in February I say don't bother! Seriously. Think about it, do you want to be away from your husbands and kids for a weekend away with 500 other women taking classes with Heidi Swapp and Tim Holtz? Yeah doesn't sound appealing huh. So like I said when the lottery comes up... don't bother signing up. HAAHAHAH Yeah I loved it! It was totally worth it and YES I would totally go again.

What was my favorite project? .... well honestly all of them. All the instructors had something different to offer. One of my favorites, which actually surprised me, was Kollette Hall. The woman had me in tears. Let me back up a bit, the Creative Escape Theme was 'Treasure'. So if you know about Kollette Hall you know all about what she has been going through with her husband. I'll admit I didn't know much about her and I had taken a class with her quite a few years back and I wasn't impressed. People are allowed to change their minds right... YES.. and well I have. I loved her project and I do plan on using it daily. What is it? It's basically a daily reflection book on finding good. You are supposed to write a daily sentence about yourself.. something good about yourself. For example today I smiled at a stranger and they smiled back at me. Just anything, something, that you can look back at later and smile. Something just for you. WOW... isn't that a cool idea. I don't have pictures of the projects yet, hopefully this weekend I will have time to take them and post them.

So for now I will share some of my favorite photos from this weekend. =)

Picnik collage_Cretive Escape

And check it out... I can now mark horseback riding off my bucket list and get this I didn't even cry! I rode that horse like I have never ever ever been bucked off. The memory of me kissing the floor and having a horse laugh in my face is GONE.. forever... So will I ever ride a horse again... probably not.. but for now I can say I rode a horse and I did it with a smile. =)
