Taking a little break

Do you ever feel like you just need a small break from everything? I do right now. It's OK though but I'll be back in full swing.

New stuff on Etsy

I forgot to post it on here but I have some new stuff up at my etsy store.

I had been inspired by all the other journaling spots I've been seeing I decided to make some. The solid circle is made from a poly-wool fabric blend. The inner white circle is duck canvas. I love this duck canvas, it is so easy to write on with a sharpie.

I have to thank everyone who has been buying items from my etsy store. To date I have made $160 in sales. I am so excited! Again thank you all for all the support you have given me. YOU ARE THE BEST!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

How to Be a Social Ninja - I can't stop laughing at this!!

Logic Puzzles - really good site! This one here is actually pretty interesting.
The Man in the Elevator - A man lives on the tenth floor of a building. Every morning he takes the elevator down to the lobby and leaves the building. In the evening, he gets into the elevator, and, if there is someone else in the elevator - or if it was raining that day - he goes back to his floor directly. Otherwise, he goes to the seventh floor and walks up three flights of stairs to his apartment. Can you explain why?

One of my favorite gossip sites Go Fung Yourself.

When I need inspiration I go to this site Hostess with the mostess. Isn't it the mostess... yeah I kill myself.

I'm off... have a great St. Patrick's Day

How to create an animated Blog Header

Most of us have blogs now a days, and everyone loves to create their own ‘creative’ blog header, so why not an animated blog header? I promise to make this as easy as possible.

I will be using Photoshop CS for this tutorial.

1. Create a blank image 10 inches x 3 inches, resolution 300.
2. For your first image create what will be your background image. See mine below.

3. Now the fun begins. I want to add in another little robot who does a little dancing in the background.
4. To do that. First insert your image, then make a few duplicate copies of that image.

Take those duplicate copies and just start moving them around, rotate them, do whatever you like. It should look a little like this.

If this sounds a little confusing. Imagine this. Each layer is a new animation. Just make sure each layer goes in the order you want your gif to animate. Does that make sense? It will be further explained in the following steps.

Once you have finished playing around with your layers we will now change the image resolution size to 75. Click on Image -> Image Size -> change resolution to 75.

Now we edit our image in Image Ready. Click on File -> Edit in Image Ready.

Your image on your desktop should look similar to something like this.

Next what you want to do is click off all the layers except your background or main image

You will now need to add a frame to the animation palette. To do this click on the top right arrow, left mouse click and select New Frame. See example below.

Now once in that new frame click on your first animated layer.

Repeat again with creating a new frame, but this time unclick your first animation and click on the second animation.

Continue repeating these steps until you have done this with each remaining layer.

Once you have completed the process set a time delay on each frame. See example below.

Once that is complete you can change the repeat options and then click on play to view your animation.

You may have to play around with the layers to get just the right animation, but once your happy with it let’s save it. Click on File -> Save Optimized As…

Give your file a name. Make sure your file is being saved as a gif. And then save it.

Here is my completed image.

Marathon by Rush

marathon_by_rush, originally uploaded by suzbucket.

When I first heard this song I loved it in an instant. I knew I wanted to create a layout using the lyrics. I couldn't pick one set of lyrics so I used the whole thing instead. What do you think?

"Marathon" by Rush

It's not how fast you can go
The force goes into the flow
If you pick up the beat
You can forget about the heat
More than just survival
More than just a flash
More than just a dotted line
More than just a dash

It's a test of ultimate will
The heartbreak climb uphill
Got to pick up the pace
If you want to stay in the race
More than just blind ambition
More than just simple greed
More than just a finish line
Must feed this burning need
In the long run...

[Chorus:]
From first to last
The peak is never passed
Something always fires the light that gets in your eyes
One moment's high, and glory rolls on by
Like a streak of lightning
That flashes and fades in the summer sky

Your meters may overload
You can rest at the side of the road
You can miss a stride
But nobody gets a free ride

More than high performance
More than just a spark
More than just the bottom line
Or a lucky shot in the dark
In the long run...

[Chorus]

You can do a lot in a lifetime
If you don't burn out too fast
You can make the most of the distance
First you need endurance
First you've got to last...

[Chorus]

Do you etsy

I was watching the Martha Stewart show the other day and saw them doing this whole segment on Etsy. I love Etsy - always doing my window shopping - so I thought I would give out my own Etsy love.

Check out this cool stuff I found.

cupcake happy birthday

cupcake_happy_birthday, originally uploaded by suzbucket.

I made this last night for one of my co-workers. She is a very special lady and I wanted to show her she is appreciated. :-) I'm happy to report she loved it!!

She came to work today with a decorated cubicle, flowers, hand made card, cake and ice cream. So now my other co-workers are jealous, but in a good way.

TFL

I'm finally getting the feel for my Etsy site.

I had this puppy sitting at my house for over a month now and finally uploaded it to my etsy site.
As many of you know I am fundraising (are you tired of me saying that yet?) for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. I've had so many fundraising ideas spinning around in my head that I figured why not use what I have available and put that to use. So I talked to Crystle and she offered to cut me some Chipboard albums. And after talking to my Creative Escape BFF Teri, she asked me to make something for the event, so whalla... here is my CE chipboard book.
I will be honest with all of you out there in blog world, I am not one to ask for anything. I have the hardest time fundraising; I hate asking for money. Every year around this time all my friends hear is give me, give me, and give me more. So this year I am trying to do things a little bit different, but hey if you happen to have an extra$5... can you give a little. :-) CLICK HERE TO GIVE a little
So check it out dog - done in my best Randy Jackson impression - I created an etsy site for my fundraising. Are you shaking your head now? As a consumer I know most people don't want to give money for nothing, but what about giving money for something. Just know anything you buy from my etsy site goes directly towards my fundraising. The best part of all you are helping save a life.
Thanks for reading my blog.
