Such a big fan of...

Paranormal State

My family laughs at me. I will not watch scary movies. Friday the 13th....the house at the corner or whatever it's called...no way! I don't dig the whole blood and gore thing, but I love a good spook. =)

But this show I am totally digging it. Because honestly I do believe in ghost, but the good kind. In one way or another I have always felt something. In the house I grew up in I could always tell something was wrong with my parents when I would hear creaking around the house. I would hear footsteps in the hallway, it never scared me but I heard it. In a way I thought it was someone protecting my family and watching over my parents.

My first apartment strange things would happen, for example: Mark's brother was visiting one weekend and they had ordered Pizza. I always make a big stink about putting away the pizza. Well OK imagine this, the pizza box is sitting on the counter but all the pizza is turned over. They thought I did it, I was like I wasn't even here. Dorks.

Then I bought my first house. My bedroom faced the back yard but my back yard spooked me out so I would never open the curtins. You know how you just get that errie feeling. Then this one time I was home alone but you know how you could sense you weren't home alone. I told Mark about this and he didn't want to spook me out but he had said he saw a little girl in the hallway turned away, looked back again and she was gone. SPOOKY huh. Nothing harmful but she was always there. If it were just us that saw this little girl big deal, but my kids had seen her and so had other visiting relatives.

Now on to the current house I live in. I love my house. I hear footsteps, the wood cracks a bit, but I love my house. Is something there? I think so. I see shawdows all the time, does it spook me out. No not really. Sometimes whatever it is hangs out with me in my scraproom. Things fall for no reason. I just look over and say "Not now I am working." HAHAHA My son walked in on me once and asked who was I talking to, I looked at the chair and said my friend. LOL.. he looked at me and thought I was crazy.

So I ask this...is the whole San Fernando Valley haunted, or is it just me?

Yeah too much coffee this morning, but it's getting the brain working. I know I shouldn't drink coffee but I really need to stay awake for today's meetings.

sticking my tongue out at the world

Do you ever want to do that? Tell the world…OK take that! You aren’t going to bring me down. No you are not.

Saturday morning, another team run. LOl don’t laugh so get this, I logged in a total of 24 miles last weekend..yeah jaw dropper huh, you read that right 24 miles. This weekend we had our own version of a half marathon with the team, 13 mile fun run. And it was fun.

I had gone out on Friday and bought the most awesome pair of running shoes. I know I know running shoes? It’s a disease, this marathon training stuff. But them check these beauties.

Pretty aren’t they. I wore them on Saturday and oh my feet felt so comfy and cozy. =)

Came home and decided to relax a bit, I turned on the WE channel and started watching The Locator. Have you seen this show? I was in tears the whole time. The thought of reuniting families just brings me to tears. I know families have secrets for whatever reason but I am a firm believer that if you are looking for someone or wondering how they are doing..reach out to them. Think I will contact Troy Dunn, there is someone I have never met but I hear they exist and I would love to meet them. *sigh* now I am in tears just thinking about it.

So after all my afternoon crying I went out Saturday night. YIPPIE. My former co-worker Kevin made a life changing decision, he sold everything he had here in the states and is moving to Brazil. WOW is all I can say. I had a blast at his going away party. He had the most gorgeous Samba Dancers and I loved just hanging out with old friends and laughing the night away.

Sunday, Sunday, it’s supposed to be a lazy Sunday right? Not on your life. That never happens to me. From doing laundry to grocery shopping I decided I wanted to go to the movies! I’ve seen the commercials for Monsters vs. Aliens and it just looked adorable. I got my youngest to come watch it with me. It is as cute as everyone says, and for once I am happy to be named Susan. LOL.

And the best movie EEVVAAHHH "Spirit of the Marathon". Spirit of the Marathon is an amazing film that follows the lives of six runners preparing for the Chicago Marathon. Each runner had a different reason for running, this film goes from start to finish. It is an amazing documentary, while watching it I truly felt connected to each and every runner. There is a quote I will never forget "When you cross that finish line, no matter how fast or how slow, it will change your life forever." This is so true! Another one that I totally loved "I Know, I'm Slow, GET OVER IT." That is my quote, going to get some t-shirts done of this. LOL

I've gotten a few feel good emails this weekend. Really bringing back my confidence in myself. Snicker snicker will talk about it later.

So I thought I'd give it a shot

I'm now on Twitter. I mostly added my celebrity gossip sites and a few scrapbookers. In a way I don't get it, do people reply to your post? How do I update from my phone? Do you want to know when I am sitting on the toilet thinking? Do you want to know when I am laying on the sofa chopping on my gallon of strawberry ice cream? Or better yet do you want to know about my stink eye? I've been perfecting my stink eye..it's pretty scary if I should say so myself. LOL. Umm... Twitter..well see.
I'm off, I have the day off tomorrow..YIPPIE...going to enjoy my day of scrapbooking and oh yes must go running shoe shopping... oh maybe I should twitter about that. LOL.
You know what...I may even pull and all nighter..scrapbooking all night long. Can't remember when was the last time I did that. OH YUM.. I hear an alcoholic beverage calling my name..must relax..must drink..ooohh can't wait. =)

It's you I like

Do you remember Mister Rogers? Do you remember this song "It's you I like"? Check out the lyrics.

It's you I like,
It's not the things you wear,
It's not the way you do your hair--
But it's you I like
The way you are right now,
The way down deep inside you--
Not the things that hide you,
Not your toys--
They're just beside you.

But it's you I like--
Every part of you,
Your skin,
your eyes,
your feelings
Whether old or new.
I hope that you'll remember
Even when you're feeling blue
That it's you I like,
It's you yourself,
It's you,
it's you I like.

Click here to listen to the song.

Ahhh that Mister Rogers...he is the man. Think I'll scrap these lyrics..got the perfect picture for this. Now to just find the time.

Stuff, stuff and more stuff

First on to the scrappy stuff. Finally scrapped a page after a few weeks. Here is my submission for this weeks Scrapping the Music Challenge.

got_mud

Another layout from my Camp Pendleton Mud Run 2007. I just love it. I haven't had so much fun ever. I signed up again for this year's mud run I can't wait to go play in the mud again. =)

Team in Training....oh how sweet the sound of clapping hands at the end of a run. I know I am crazy, but I love it. I'm a little pooped today but it was all worth it.

It all started out a little crazy. I was at the park at 6:30 am. I felt a little rumble in my tummy...put my peanut butter and jelly sandwich down...ran to the restroom...BARF. Yeah I know but I want to talk about my day OK. I barfed. I did something bad. I took my vitamins this morning with a V8. I'm not sure if the V8 had anything to do with, but something upset my stomach. So I barfed again and I felt better and went back to the team. Threw away my sandwich.. =( and went out and did a warm up run. As we are running my pants are falling. LOL. Yeah I know what? Well I got this new pair of pants and well haha they were falling. I was running and thinking.. OK could this day could not get any worst? No right. So I went out and started to run had to pull over a few times to let out a little more. I barfed again...felt better but I ended up losing my group and was out on the road alone. Oh well. So I went to the first water stop and waited for the back end stragglers and figured I'll walk them in. I was only supposed to do 5 miles. I ended up walking with an amazing person named Leslie Suedkamp -> read her story here. I can't explain it, but honestly it's because of people like her that stick around and do what I do.

So even though my day started out really bad it ended up being an amazing day. After practice a few of us went to a local fire station to go sign up as marrow donors.

It's a heart warming feeling to know that one day I might just save someones' life. I'm off for a nap now..tomorrow is the Pasadena Half Marathon. So 11 miles today, 13.1 miles tomorrow... what was I thinking when I signed up. CRAZY..is all I can say. Lets hope it doesn't rain - I'm afraid my hair will get all curly. LOL. Speaking of which..not sure if you can tell in the picture but my hair has gotten super long. I want to cut it but think I'll let it grow so that I can donate it. I'm sure someone out there would love a Carrot Top Wig. =)

If you read this far..you are a ROCK STAR. I tend to ramble when I am really tired. Off to take a nap.

bucket out *CHEESE* Peace and love and all that jazz.

I LOVE THESE PEOPLE

IMG_0722_copy, originally uploaded by tntgla.

We wake up early on Saturday mornings. We like to run/walk marathons. Are we crazy? Probably. Do we love it? OF COURSE!! This picture here is of the teams current Support Staff. They are an amazing bunch and they are all so dedicated to finding a cure to this awful disease know as CANCER. My family looks at me leave the house every Saturday Morning at 6:00 am, they shake their head and ask "Are you going running today?" they say this as they look up at the sky (looks like rain) or they say this as they are shivering with cold. I say "Yep...we are only doing 5 miles today." I say it with a smile and they just laugh. I am amazed with my team. The participants are amazed with themselves. For most it's the first time they have ever ran more then 2 miles. I look at them, hug them and say....be very proud of yourself you just did 5 miles today. They smile and almost cry, they can't believe it. I just tell them...this is just the beginning of your addiction. LOL. I say yeah, it's an addiction.

Sue Baker Iron Bruin Triathlon 2009

This past weekend I went with my BFF Sue Baker to her 1st ever Triathlon. She did the UCLA Iron Bruin Triathlon. As we were picking up her race packet we were talking to the event coordinators. They saw our TNT shirts and said oh wow, you all do Marathons? I smiled and said "oh yeah, to me that is much more easier then doing a Triathlon." They just laughed and said OK you haven't done a Triathlon yet have you? I was like NO WAY! They said well I will never do a marathon so kudos to you. How funny huh. So now after watching Sue do her Triathlon I am so inspired to do one and plan to do one before the year is up. My friend Karina mentioned an all women Triathlon, The Danskin Triathlon in Disneyland (http://www.danskinsheroxtri.com/Los_Angeles_-_Disneyland.htm). I told myself that before I turned 40 I want to compete in a triathlon, so this is it. WOW Who knew this lazy girl would ever compete in these endurance events... I am so excited. The triathlon isn't until September/October which gives me plenty of time to train for the swimming and biking portion of the event. aaahhh...goals. I CAN'T WAIT!

Scrap it Forward - For it is in Giving that we receive.

This is the first of many challenges that I will be entering for this blog. This month challenge is to make cards that will be sold at a fundraising event for Autism Speaks. I created a bunch of Birthday Cards. I love giving away my handmade cards, it just an extra special touch =)

If you haven't checked out the blog I encourage you to do so. I always find it heartwarming to do something for others and not expect something in return. It's just me, that is the way I am.

A heart wide open

Scrapping the Music Blog Challenge: Challenge #75--Say What you Need to Say

Journaling reads: *click on picture to see it a bit larger*
My grandparents came to this country to make a better life for their family. First my grandmother, then my grandfather, then their children followed one by one. I think back to my first memories of them. I remember the parties, the house on Venice Beach, but most of all I remember their love for each other. My grandparents were married for 67 years through sickness and health they showed the family what true love was. Looking at life with a heart wide open I hope to make them proud.
