Talking to myself....

really isn't as much fun as i would have thought. i am home sick and kind sick and tired of being home. Some people think it's great working from home, but really it's not. at work at least I can get up and go talk to someone about anything. at home i get up to wash the dishes...what fun is that? so here i am surfing the internet.

i have decided i am going to looking into cooking classes. yeah don't laugh. i've been thinking about it for a while and i'd really love to cook something different something healthy. if you know me you are probably thinking....as if you have time with everything else you do. well like they say...if you really want to do something you will find the time to do it right. right..... lol.

besides that i want to make cupcakes. funny thing is i am not a big fan of deserts. seriously, i love ice cream but not a big fan of cakes and stuff. but then I see stuff like this... (found at Happiness in a bite)

I love Sock Monkeys..... and I just fell in love with this cup cake.

maybe it's just my craft side...but I just want to play. maybe i'll go work on a layout tonight. there is one more challenge I wanted to work on. yeah think i'll do that. off to finish my work and then calling it a day... oh yeah and for dinner tonight...Salmon with pineapple salsa... YUM YUM... Josh is cooking. I will have to take pictures of this for sure.

Bringing the family together....

With a puzzle? Who knew??

I had this idea to open up the communication with Mark. Buy a puzzle and dedicate at least 1 hour/20 minutes really anything to get us to talking. So Mark started working on it- alone - while I slept all day on Sunday. I am sick... with a bad something cold/flu what is the difference anyway. So anyway, he worked on it alone while I slept.

Last night, while Mark was away at a business dinner, Josh and I started working on it together. Silly kid I tell you. He totally makes me laugh. He kept saying I was bugging him by trying to talk to him, I just laughed. I kept saying "Josh!" He would say "MOM WHAT!" me.. I love you. LOL... Yeah I bug but I love this child of mine. So we talked about his girlfriend, school, and of course the most important thing...how much he loves his mama. LOL.

Mark eventually came home and took over. They kicked me out because I was coughing and sneezing too much. Whatever...I didn't want to share my germs with them anyway.

I am working from home today. I have to say I am really fortunate to be able to work from home. I'm trying to work it where I can work from home more often. Crossing my fingers my manager will approve me.

The funeral yesterday was heart breaking. I learned Charles and his mom didn't have a close relationship and she never got a chance to tell her son she loved him. I can't even imagine that. It's just heart breaking. I don't know it just makes me realize how important a bond between a child and a parent is.

That's it... going back to sleep for a while. =)

Today I wore them.

In a few minutes I will be leaving to pay my respects to a co-worker.

He was a victim of voilence, he was only 27.

When you are older and pass away they say, at least they lead a full life. When you are younger they say..so sad he was taken away at such a young age.

Which ever way you look at it, death is sad. I knew my co-worker. Said Good Morning, Good Afternoon, and have a Good Evening. I told my son Josh about his death, he was stunned. No way, he was a nice guy I really liked him.

The way I see it where you work is not just work but really an extended family. I spend more time with my co-workers then I do with my own family. I am still numb over all this. Such an aweful way to go. Rest in Peace Charles Isaac.

hahah who the heck creates these movie descriptions on Dish. I have a dirty mind what can I say.

So for now I think I will sit back and watch this movie, I actually like it. I can't say I am one to watch old movies, but today I will give it a try. Happy Sunday.

Update: aaahhhh it is really making me miss old Mexico. I am loving the outfits and the music, the dancing......ahhh I love it.

Have you listened to the song 1,2,3,4 by the Plain White T's? Nope you just have to. It's so fun and catchy. When I saw that song was chosen for this weeks challenge I immediately jumped on it.

I've been soul searching a lot lately. I know every couple out there has it's challenges but for Mark and I we hit a wall. In a way it was a good thing. We have been talking a lot and slowly but surely renewing our relationship. It's been difficult but all in all.... I am so glad he is part of my life, but just don't tell him that.

TFL, and I'm off to scrap again. =) I am really enjoying my day off, and get this I even made dinner. Gotta love it.

Take Flight - Creative Therapy Catalyst 49

I've been checking out the Creative Therapy Challenges but have never done one. So glad I decided to do this one. The challenge: Pick a photo that brings up some emotions and create your art around it.

Why this photo? Well that is me at the age of 3. I always look at little kids and think wow, no one can tell them no dream is big enough, believe in your dreams and you can do anything.

My co-workers must think I am super strange. I take the most random photos . We went out for a walk during lunch today and I was just taking photos of me walking. I love taking those kind of photos, one of those criss cross I was here sort of thing. I wish I could go walking around and tag the pavements with random messages. Just something fun to kill the monotony of our daily routines.

I played around with the pictures in Picnik. I love it. I'm all about playing with my photos. So there you have it, this is what I do at work for fun.

Not enough hours in a day!!

Surf City 1/2 Marathon. All I have to say, if you have ever wanted to do a marathon this is one to do. The course was beautiful and the course support was awesome! I really love doing 1/2 marathons. I know to some it's kinda like what... you like running 13.1 miles. YES I DO. It's the most awesome feeling to say, yeah I can do it. But to be honest I was in a lot of pain afterwards. I hardly trained - which I don't recommend to anyone - and well I got what I deserved. A sore foot and a sore body. Well I will say this, I am getting better at doing this. I have another one coming up in March - Great Race of Agoura Hills and there was another one. I can't remember right now. I am going to Seattle! I have to work it where hopefully I can make a mini vacation out of it. I kind of want to do the San Diego Full and then do the Seattle half marathon. Just that the San Diego Full course is gets really boring around mile 19 - 25. So boring this is where most people hit the wall. The wall? Where you tell yourself.. This is it.. I am not going to move anymore... don't tell me I am doing great..I am not doing great... I am going to die. LOL. Yeah it gets pretty bad. So... that is my goal for the next few months. Train for the San Diego full and the Seattle Half. Oh wait somewhere in between there I am also doing the Camp Pendleton Mud Run. June is going to be a busy month for me. I AM EXCITED!

Challenge #71 - I'll be your mirror
I've had this picture for a while and have been wanting to scrap it. The dogs are my sisters dogs - Hershey and Capone. Capone follows Hershey around everywhere, I think it's adorable. How I captured this photo I will never know, but aren't they adorable? BTW Capone is the smaller dog, he is a little terror but I just love him. =)



And this layout below I think was challenge #69 - Rainbow.

I actually messed up on it and tried covering it up. I don't like it but I'll post it on here anyway. It's going straight into my "FUGLY" pile. LOL. TFL.
